Summer is taking off!
What are your kiddos doing this summer?

Summer is a great time for kids to relax, be creative, spend time with family and friends, and take advantage of the gift of time to play and have fun. As working parents plan summer activities for their children, it’s important that these elements are included in your child’s summer. Find summer programs that offer opportunities for children to be creative, try new things, make friends, and experience the joys that summer brings. Take time to read and learn about your local summer programs. Read reviews; ask questions.

In addition to finding a quality summer program that your child will enjoy, parents must also consider the safety and security protocols. When considering a summer program, here are a few basic safety and security questions to help you get started in choosing the best place for your child:

  1. What are the safety and security protocols?
  2. Have all staff successfully completed a background check prior to employment? Is the background check an ongoing check for all staff?
  3. What training has the staff been provided in child supervision and safety protocols?
  4. What is the staff to camper ratio?
  5. What is the drop-off and pick-up procedure?
  6. Is the campus open to visitors, and if so, how are visitors checked in?

Having the peace of mind that your child is in a summer program that emphasizes safety protocols is priceless. Finding a summer program that is nurturing, safe, and offers a wide variety of summer experiences for children is a great find!

I invite your child to spend their summer with us at Hockaday!
